Sometimes teams and players get left in the dust when they haven’t performed great at the beginning of their seasons. In this article, we will briefly touch on teams and players from the Northern MN Area who have fallen under the radar this season.

      • Crookston 1-18-0
        • #15: Jack Doda: Freshman Forward. 15 Goals, 6 Assists.
          • Jack is a quick and agile hockey player who has a lot left to show in his high school hockey career. Crookston has had a rough start to their season, however, one glimmering light of hope is seen in Freshman Forward, Jack Doda. He may not have experienced a winning season during his Freshman year but he has 3 years to improve and help his team obtain a winning record.
      • Ely 2-11-0
        • #12: Luke Olson: Senior Forward. 25 Goals, 6 Assists.
          • Luke has had an incredible high school hockey career. He has racked up 81 goals and 43 assists since the 2016-2017 season. Ely has reached the Section Playoffs for the past three seasons and is looking to make a successful run in the offseason. Luke has performed well this season although the team has only won two games. Look for Luke Olson to make an impact in the postseason.
      • Moose Lake Area 4-17-0
        • #3: Jordan Fjosne: Senior Utility. 25 Goals, 20 Assists.
          • Jordan is an insatiable hockey player and an even better person. He has earned this month’s Northern MN MVP of January. He leads Moose Lake Area Varsity in points on the season and he leads his life in a championship manner. Jordan’s teachers, coaches, and peers speak extremely highly of this Senior Student-Athlete. Check back later to learn more about Jordan Fjosne and his story. Look for Jordan to continue to lead his team as the season comes to an end in a little more than a month.
      • Hibbing/Chisholm 2-18-0
        • #10: Mitchell Ziemba: Senior Defenseman. 11 Goals, 10 Assists.
          • Mitchell has been able to find the net more times as a defenseman than any of his teammates who are forwards this season. He is strong on his skates and he has transformed his shot throughout the past three seasons. Mitchell has not experienced much team success this year as Hibbing has gone 2-18-0. Mitchell will continue to look to lead his team in February.
