You may not always see the following players in the stat sheets but they are the glue that holds teams together. Here’s a look at some of the most unsung players heading into their Senior season from last season; when injuries hit the hardest.
Lyncoln Bielenberg-Howarth (Sr., Rochester Century H.S.)
Far below the point of freezing, nestled in the swift, southern countryside of Rochester is where Bielenberg-Howarth and the rest of his teammates call home. Last season he put his team on the map with quite a display of perseverance. Despite his team being short-handed with injuries, he added a jaw-dropping 68 points (28 goals, 40 assists) and was the forerunner of their comeback year.
Damon Furuseth (Sr. Gentry Academy)
Furuseth has been a jump-starter for a program just still in its infancy and has proved an example his teammates can look up to for years to come. Last season he contributed 60 points (29 goals, 31 assists) and was a catalyst on their power-play as well as short-handed.
Cody Croal (Sr., North Branch H.S.)
Croal is no beginner to big game. His 55 points (25 goals, 30 assists) were much appreciated last season on a Viking team that proved formidable all year. His contributions proved vital as he chipped in a huge goal to beat Mound West-Tonka 4-3; and added another goal at Breck H.S., despite a 7-2 defeat respectively.
