SubscribeThe High School Hockey season is back in the state of Minnesota, lets take a look back on week 1 and highlight some key players who have turn some heads early while improving their draft stock.

Drew Fisher (2022) | 6-1 F | 11th Grade | Cretin-Derham Hall
Drew is the oldest of the Fisher brothers for Cretin-Derham Hall, who both had a fantastic week. The right-shot forward recorded 2 assists in his first two games for CDH, but it is his physical play that has had him stand out from others. Drew is a leader on and off the ice as he plays with a lot of emotion and passion. The 6’1″ winger uses his size well while not chasing hits but knows when to use his body. Drew like his brother Jake, has a very powerful shot that can catch goaltenders by surprise.
Carson Brodt (2021) | 5-8 F | 12th Grade | Mounds View
Mounds View has started the season on a rough note dropping their first 2 games. The 5’8″ senior forward Carson Brodt has been a lone bright spot for this young Mounds View team. Brodt has scored one of his team’s three goals for the week. The 3-year varsity forward has very good hands with a good shot. Brodt is more of a playmaking forward but is not afraid to cut to a shooting lane if the opportunity presents itself. This young Mounds View team will have to look for their senior forwards to produce more to get them out of their slow start of the season.

Tyler Bishop (2022) | 5-9 F | 11th Grade | White Bear Lake
Bishop currently leads the Suburban East in points and assists with 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points through 2 games. Last year the 10th grade forward only recorded 2 goals and 1 assist for 3 points in 22 games for White Bear. Bishop is already having a career year and on pace for a very big year. The 5’10” Junior has wonderful vision and playmaking ability which is shown throughout the game. Bishop also plays a strong 2-way game with great defensive positioning and can be relied on in any asset of the game.
Simon Houge (2023) | 5-8 D | 10th Grade | Cretin-Derham Hall
Simon is a very young defender who broke on the scene last year as a freshman for a very strong Cretin-Derham Hall team. Houge, last season recorded 16 assists in 25 regular-season games for CDH. The 5’8″ defender got a little bigger and stronger this season and massively improved his game on the back end. Houge is a very poised young defenseman who plays an extremely versatile 2-way game. Despite his size, Simon is not afraid to use his body to deliver a big hit or layout to block a shot. Simon is someone to keep an eye on over the years.
