#1 Zak Kennett– Senior, Red Lake Falls- (16 G, 12 A- 28 points)
Kennett is having a phenomenal senior season; he is third in the state for points with 28 and that is good for an average of 3.11 points per game. Kennett has always put up these types of numbers- his sophomore year he had 61 points, junior year an outstanding 98 points. He is consistent with his numbers, that is what is leading to his stock to keep rising. Zak deserves the chance to play at the next level even if it is just juniors; he has had such a great career to not get recognized. Making section final or state will improve his chances to get eyes on him.
#2 Tyler Hennen- Sophomore, Kittson Central- (14 G, 9 A- 23 points)
Tyler Hennen is up there with Plante as one of the top underclassmen in the state. This year Hennen has 23 points in just 6 games- that is pretty close to 4 points per game! Last year in his freshman year he put up a really impressive 57 points, and he looks to match or improve on that in this shortened season. Hennen plays on the Minnesota Voyageurs 18U AAA team in the offseason from highschool. He is one of the top players in ‘A’ and he could be a top player at any school in ‘AA’ if he wanted- Hennen should get a shot in at least juniors in his career. Great start to the year for the young stud.
#3 Parker Mitchell- Junior, Mora/Milaca- (13 G, 13 A- 26 points)
Last, but certainly not least- Parker Mitchell has been off to a blazin’ hot first half of the season. He has 26 points with an even split of goals and assists. Mitchell has a point in 7 out of 8 games and the one game he did not have a point was the first one- he is on a 7 game point streak. Mitchell is still a junior and he is already breaking out- he will be one of the top seniors next year. Watch out for Mitchell for the rest of the season.
