Tate Cothern Tate Cothern 5'6" | Goalie Rochester Mayo | 2022 State MN | 5’6 Goalie | Rochester Mayo | #30 Overall
Tate Cothern Tate Cothern 5'6" | Goalie Rochester Mayo | 2022 State MN has had one of the best seasons out of any goalie this year. He finished with a 7-1 record and had a goals-against-average of 1.38 and has a save percentage of .949. Tate faced 235 shots this season and saved 223 of them. I think next season we will see a lot more from him, but a super impressive junior year from Cothern and is rated just right I think. A very good season from Cothern has made him a top ten junior goalie going into the offseason.
Croix Kochendorfer | 6’4 Goalie | East Ridge | #31 Overall
Kochendorfer is on a pretty mediocre team, but he is the reason for a couple of their only 7 wins this year. He had a 7-11 record this season but had a really good .934 save percentage- he faced 620 shots and saved 579 of them. His best performance this year was when he had a shutout against a solid Moundsview squad where he saved all 31 shots. He started his high school career at Cretin Derham Hall, but did not get much playing time there so he transferred to East Ridge. He is their best player by far and is still a top 10 goalie despite his record- East Ridge has never been good at hockey. Kochendorfer played for the Blades AAA team in 16U and for the Blizzard in 18U. Croix had a really good year this year and keeps his below-average team in games and even won some for them. He is a goalie to watch out for this next season.
Quentin Sigurdson | 5’9 Goalie | Sartell | #46 Overall
Sigurdson ended up having a pretty solid season this year. The junior from Sartell had 2.00 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage. He ended up having 5 shutouts on 19 games which is his most impressive stat. The thing that would make him jump up more in the rankings next season is if he starts to be more consistent. He really came on and played his best hockey at the end of the season and is definitely on the rise from how he started the season. He can jump to the top 25 if he plays consistently like he did at the end of this season.
Thomas Huotari Thomas Huotari 5'11" | Goalie Delano | 2022 State MN | 5’11 Goalie | Delano | #49 Overall
Huotari is a good reason that the Delano Tigers made the state tourney this season. Huotari had a goal-against-average of 1.69 which is really solid. His save percentage is .904 and saved 319 of the 353 shots he faced this year. His last loss was over a month ago as he has won 10 games in a row right now and is 13-6-1 on the year. The next update should have him jumping up a bit with this solid end-of-season play but also depends on how the state tournament goes. Thomas is one of the best goalies in ’A’ and has been playing like the best as of late.
