Class of 2022 Rankings- Newcomers

What players are completely new to our senior class rankings? We have a lot of new players to our rankings, as we expanded the rankings from 50 to 138- we added a ton of new players. In this article, we cover the most intriguing senior prospects that are new to our rankings and break down what has led them to be ranked in this update.

 

#81- Ryan Schmidt Ryan Schmidt 5'8" | Forward Chisago Lakes | 2022 State MN | Chisago Lakes | 5’8 Forward 

My oh my is Ryan Schmidt Ryan Schmidt 5'8" | Forward Chisago Lakes | 2022 State MN having a huge senior season at Chisago Lakes. He is absolutely having a breakout season, as his stats, this year compared to last year the difference is night and day. Last year in 18 games Schmidt had 7 goals and 7 assists for 14 points. Now in his senior year, Schmidt has 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points in just 11 games. His senior season alone has propelled him into the rankings.

#87 – Braxten Hoffmann Braxten Hoffmann 6'0" | Forward New Ulm | 2022 State MN | New Ulm | 6’0 Forward

Braxten Hoffmann Braxten Hoffmann 6'0" | Forward New Ulm | 2022 State MN was one of the better players last season that didn’t make the top 50. We all know it is weaker competition in southern Minnesota, but the number that Braxten has put up in his career is very impressive. Halfway through his 4th season, he has 139 points. Braxten will likely hit over 150 career points then go play juniors somewhere.

#90- Zander Zoia Zander Zoia 5'7" | Defense Minneapolis | 2022 State MN | Minneapolis | 5’7 Defenseman

Zander Zoia Zander Zoia 5'7" | Defense Minneapolis | 2022 State MN is a huge reason why Minneapolis is having a great season so far this year. He has been having a great career but was not included last time in our rankings. The expansion has allowed Zander to be included as our 90th ranked player. Zander has a good chance to go off and play juniors after college. Zoia has 52 total points in his career so far, which is very impressive.

#114- Easton Hammill Easton Hammill 6'3" | Defense Dodge County | 2022 State MN | Dodge County | 6’3 Defenseman

Easton Hammill Easton Hammill 6'3" | Defense Dodge County | 2022 State MN had a breakout season last year, as he jumped from 4 points in his sophomore year to 27 points in his junior year. Hammill is a big-bodied, physical defenseman that can also put up a lot of points. Currently, in his senior year, Hammill has 9 goals and 6 assists for the Wildcats. One of the top defenseman in ’A’.

#116- Carter Puente Carter Puente Goalie New Prague | 2022 State MN | New Prague | Goalie

Carter Puente Carter Puente Goalie New Prague | 2022 State MN is new to the rankings based on the senior season that he is having currently. Puente is currently at number 16 in the current save percentage rankings- with a .924 save percentage. He has played some very tough opponents, so his GAA is not as good as some other goalies. He is very deserving to be ranked in the class of 2022, and that is why he is on this list.

#129- Brady Knorr Brady Knorr 6'1" | Forward Hutchinson | 2022 State MN | Hutchinson | 6’1 Forward

Brady Knorr Brady Knorr 6'1" | Forward Hutchinson | 2022 State MN is having a senior season to remember- with 32 points in 13 games with 20 goals and 13 assists. He just missed the cut of making the rankings last year, and his fast start to the season made him hard to leave off. Knorr has Hutchinson playing pretty well this season, and he is the main reason behind it. With a good finish to the season, Knorr has the chance to hop into the top 100.
