Section 4AA- Top Players

This section is very interesting this year, with Gentry Academy making their jump up to AA after winning state in A last year. Hill Murray has been very dominant in this section and they won the state championship in 2020. Stillwater had some success in this section and it is very often a Stillwater V. Hill Murray section final. A lot of good players in this section… it will be very fun. This section is also very loaded with talent.

Dylan Godbout Dylan Godbout 5'11" | Forward Hill Murray | 2022 State MN | 5’11 Forward | Hill Murray Pioneers | #2 Ranked ’22

Wisconsin commits, Dylan Godbout Dylan Godbout 5'11" | Forward Hill Murray | 2022 State MN is the top dog in this section. He has been playing on varsity for Hill Murray since he was a freshman. In his sophomore year, he won a state tournament with the Pioneers. Last year, in his junior season he had 9 goals and 17 assists for 26 total points. This year Godbout is breaking out and stepping up as a leader for the Pios. He has 23 goals and 22 assists for 45 points in 23 games thus far. Godbout has a good chance at leading his team back to the X: they have already had a great season. They are a lock for the one seed. Watch out for him to make some noise in the playoffs this year.

Barrett Hall | 6’0 Forward | Gentry Academy Stars | #19 Ranked ’22

Barrett Hall Barrett Hall 6'0" | Forward Gentry Academy | 2022 State MN is arguably the top player in this section. He has the points to prove that, as he is averaging 2.33 points per game in 21 games played. Barrett Hall Barrett Hall 6'0" | Forward Gentry Academy | 2022 State MN has a chance to be voted by some of the voters in the top group of Mr. Hockey. Hall is a very balanced scorer, as he has 25 goals, 25 assists for 49 total points. A crazy good career for Hall, and he is a huge part of the Stars squad. Hall has a good shot to be featured on the big stage in AA in the section championship. Hall will most definitely go play juniors after his great high school career. He will make a jump in our next ranking update.

Leo Gruba | 6’2 Defenseman | Hill Murray Pioneers | #12 Ranked ’22 

Leo Gruba is for sure the best defenseman in this section. He is one of the top uncommitted seniors in the state and was ranked 100th by the NHL Central Scouting. This year, Gruba has 8 goals and 19 assists for 27 total points, which is very solid for a defenseman. Gruba is a great defender that has a lot of potential in juniors and at the next level. He has some nice playmaking ability from the point, and also is a prime reason the Pioneers have a low GAA.

Nolan Roed | 5’11 Forward | White Bear Lake Bears | Unranked ’24

Roed is leading his team in points as a sophomore. He has 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 total points this season. We left him off of our original ’24 rankings, but he will be added in the next update in about a month. He is slotted to be in the 15-20 range of our updated rankings, as of now. He is such a good scorer for a sophomore, and White Bear Lake definitely has some potential in this season. Roed is already a leader as a sophomore and has a chance to lead the Bears to state. This is one player to watch out for in the future, as it is very bright.

Prediction

 

Carter-  Hill Murray

Hill Murray just has so much depth and talent they should walk away with this section. The two teams to watch are White Bear Lake and Gentry Academy.

Blake- Hill Murray
