Section 6AA is usually the best AA section in the state. With Blake, Edina, BSM, Wayzata it is a full-on war to get the state tourney bid. This section also has some of the best players in the state. This year will particularly be fun to watch because there is no true favorite. It will be very interesting to see who will make it to state out of this section this year. In this article, we present the top players from the section.

Benilde St. Margarets (No. 1 Seed)

      Adam Marshall Adam Marshall 5'10" | Forward Benilde- St. Margarets | 2022 State MN | 5’10 Forward | #11 Ranked ’22

Adam Marshall Adam Marshall 5'10" | Forward Benilde- St. Margarets | 2022 State MN is on of the best players from this section. Adam is a very balanced scorer, as he has 22 points and 22 assists for 44 total points. Adam averages 1.76 points per game, and is the leader on the very solid Red Knight team. Currently, he is uncommitted as a Senior: but look for him to make a commitment this offseason or after a stretch in juniors. Marshall is also one of the fastest skaters in the state. Once thought of as a Mr. Hockey favorite- surely will do some damage in the section and maybe even state.

      Mason McElroy Mason McElroy 5'10" | Goalie Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2024 State MN | 5’10 Goalie | #9 Ranked ’24

Arguably the top goalie in the section, McElroy looks to play a big impact in sending the Red Knights to state. McElroy has a very impressive 15-4-0 record on the year. He is the top sophomore goalie in the state and is one to watch for in two years for the Brimsek award. Mason has a GAA of 1.83 and a SV PCT of .922. His most recent game against No. 2 seed Edina, he stopped 32/34 shots faced. McElroy has really broke out this year and what he is doing this year in his sophomore campaign is very impressive.

      Edina (No.2 Seed)

      Trey Fechko Trey Fechko 5'10" | Forward Edina | 2022 State MN | 5’10 Forward | #1 Ranked ’22

Fechko, the Arizona State commit is having a very impactful season for the Hornets. At 20 goals and 14 assists, he has the ability of playmaking and being a top-tier scorer. He plays a lot like Marshall, as he is very fast and uses his speed to win battles and blow past defenseman. In the Hornets’ 3-2 win over Minnetonka the other night, Fechko played a huge hand in the win. He had 2 goals and 1 asisst for 3 points. That is the type of the impact the Hornets needs from Trey against the likes of BSM and Wayzata. Trey is a very huge future piece for the Arizona State Sun Devils squad.

      Harper Bentz Harper Bentz 6'0" | Forward Moorhead | 2023 State MN | 6’0 Forward | #5 Overall ’23

Clark is one of the best Juniors in the state, and his physicality and hockey IQ is a huge reason for the Hornets’ success. Clark has some pretty good stats, with 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 total points. Clark doesn’t light up the lamp too often, as he averages a goal every other game, but he is one of the best and doing the things right that arent on the statsheet. It will be interesting to see if the Univeristy of Minnesota commit will stay in juniors and not come back for his senior year. Clark and Fechko look to lead the Hornets to state.

      Wayzata (No. 3 Seed)

      Aidan Willis Aidan Willis 5'11" | Forward Lakeville South | 2023 State MN | Goalie | #25 Overall ’23

When we think of most impactful player on the Trojans, I instantly think of Ingemann. I remember watching him last year against Lakeville South in the state tourney where at the start of the game he stood on his head. In his Junior year he has kept the same high level of play. His record is 15-8-1, with 5 shutouts. Ingemann has a GAA of 1.84 and a save percentage of .922. His best game of the year, was when he shutout Warroad with a 21 save performance. Ingemann is the reason why the Trojans have a sub 2 GAA.

      Champion Predictions:
