Ty Kennett | Red Lake Falls
Ty Kennett finished with the most points in the state this season. He plays weaker competition, so that is noted.. but he still had a great season. Kennett had 44 goals and 49 assists for 93 total points this season. He was in the high school elite league twice in his career, so he is definitely noticed by junior leagues around the state. Finishing number one in points in the state of hockey shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Blake Lueck Blake Lueck 5'10" | Forward Spring Lake Park | 2022 State MN | Spring Lake Park
Blake Lueck Blake Lueck 5'10" | Forward Spring Lake Park | 2022 State MN was one of the top finishers in the state in goals this season. Blake plays against very tough competition, and really showed he can score against anyone this season. Blake had a whopping 44 total goals this season, and he added 22 assists as the cherry on top. No word on juniors for him yet, but he is a premier MN scoring forward so he should at least get a look on my own. Playing in the Northwest Suburban and putting up those numbers is impressive, to say the least.
Gavin Middendorf Gavin Middendorf 5'10" | Forward Forest Lake | 2022 State MN | Forest Lake
Gavin Middendorf Gavin Middendorf 5'10" | Forward Forest Lake | 2022 State MN broke the Forest Lake single-season record in goals this season. Forest Lake was pretty solid this year and a good reason for that was the types of numbers Gavin put up. Gavin had 38 goals and 24 assists for 62 total points this season. That puts him at a 2.3 pts per game average which is very impressive. He deserves the chance to play at the next level, and I think he has some future in hockey.
Easton Young Easton Young 5'11" | Defense Grand Rapids | 2022 MN | Grand Rapids
Easton Young Easton Young 5'11" | Defense Grand Rapids | 2022 MN absolutely blew up this season in terms of production. Honorable mention might even be too low for him, as he had an insane season. Young finished his senior year with 13 goals and 37 assists for 50 total points. He can score from the point as well as dish out some assists, which is his strength. The Grand Rapids defender is already in the USHL with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. I see a future at the D1 level with Young for sure.
Jack Kritzeck Jack Kritzeck 5'9" | Defense Mora/Milaca | 2022 State MN | Mora/Milaca
Jack Kritzeck Jack Kritzeck 5'9" | Defense Mora/Milaca | 2022 State MN is one of the best scoring defenders in ‘A’. He had a very successful season this year notching 60 total points with 25 goals and 35 assists. He also had 2.31 average points across this season. A really underrated player this year for sure. His stats make him have a likely future in juniors for a bit. If he can improve his defending ability he will make it to D1.
Austin Brauns Austin Brauns 5'10" | Goalie Andover | 2022 MN | Andover
The state title goaltender had a huge season this year for the Huskies. He kept them in a lot of games and his bend don’t break mentality really net some wins for his team. This was Brauns’ first season starting in varsity, and he maintained to win a state title. He did more than “maintained”, as he had a GAA of 1.78 a save percentage of .929, and a record of 22-5-1. What a year for Brauns, and he might even be underrated a bit on this list. Good player that should see opportunities come his way soon.
