With the recent release of our newly updated Prep Hockey Class of 2023 Player Rankings, its now time to feature some players who moved up in the ranks. There are many players in this class who made significant strides in their junior seasons and moved up many spots because of that. When restructuring the rankings, we went through all 150 players, so many changes were made. We feel like we assembled fairly accurate rankings, so make sure to check that out! Now without further ado, lets meet the players in our first Stock Risers article for this class!

      Robbie Clarkowski Robbie Clarkowski 5'11" | Goalie Edina | 2023 State MN | Goalie | Edina | Prep Hockey ’23’s #28

Robbie Clarkowski Robbie Clarkowski 5'11" | Goalie Edina | 2023 State MN made a huge jump in our updated rankings and deservingly so. Clarkowski is one of the top goaltenders in the 2023 class as he posted a 1.86 Goals Against Average and had a whopping 8 shutouts in his junior season. When you consider the always tough Edina schedule, those numbers are very impressive for the Hornet netminder. Clarkowski’s size and height gives him a pretty big advantage and makes it very tough for the opposition to score on Edina. I could very well see Clarkowski being a Frank Brimsek finalist next season if he keeps it up. Right now I believe he is a top three goaltender in this class.

      Erick Comstock Erick Comstock 5'5" | Defense Warroad | 2023 State MN | Defense | Warroad | Prep Hockey ’23’s #30

Erick Comstock Erick Comstock 5'5" | Defense Warroad | 2023 State MN of Warroad very much reminds me of Jared Spurgeon of the Minnesota Wild. When it comes to height, Comstock is not your average defenseman, but he is a darn good one. Comstock can play on both ends of the ice and even compete in the nitty gritty areas. Offensively this season, Comstock tallied 34 points, which included 30 assists. Comstock is one of the better defenders in this class as he is probably in the top 10 or so. We will look at him to improve and mature even more as the rock of the Warroad defensive core in his senior season. Along with Clarkowski, Comstock moved up significantly in our updated rankings.

      Kade Kohanski Kade Kohanski 5'9" | Forward Hermantown | 2023 State MN | Forward | Hermantown | Prep Hockey ’23’s #31

This season was Kade Kohanski Kade Kohanski 5'9" | Forward Hermantown | 2023 State MN ’s first year playing high school hockey as a junior and he played like he already had one year under his belt. Kohanski had the luxury of playing with the Plante brothers on the first line, but even when Zam was out at the beginning of the season, Kohanski produced for the Hawks. Kohanski had 58 points in his inaugural high school campaign and we shall see if he can continue his success with the possibility of not having both Plante brothers this upcoming season. In the most recent USHL Phase II draft on May 3rd, Kohanski was selected by the Chicago Steel in the 14th Round. Kohanski probably made the biggest jump in our updated rankings as he was in the 50 to 100 range previously.
