Prep Hockey just recently released our class of 2023 rankings. We featured 150 total players, and we will expand that in the summer to about 175. In this article, we cover the top 3 uncommitted players in the rankings and try to predict where they might end up. Let’s get right into it!

      #1. Landen Gunderson Landen Gunderson 6'1" | Forward Maple Grove | 2023 State MN | 6’1 Forward | Maple Grove | #3 Overall 2023

Landen Gunderson Landen Gunderson 6'1" | Forward Maple Grove | 2023 State MN is our top uncommitted player in the class of 2023. He had a huge junior season with 21 goals and 59 assists for 80 total points. In his sophomore year he had 48 total points, and also in his freshman year had 19 points. Gunderson has 147 total points in his career at Maple Grove. He is currently in the USHL with the Madison Capitols, and he is questionable to return to high school. This is a for sure D1 prospect and he has to decide what is best for his future. Keep in mind he has played 3 seasons in HS already. If we had to choose a college that he will commit to.. we’d say the University of Minnesota. Seems like they are the favorite at this point.

      #2. Harper Bentz Harper Bentz 6'0" | Forward Moorhead | 2023 State MN | 6’0 Forward | Moorhead | #5 Overall 2023

Harper Bentz Harper Bentz 6'0" | Forward Moorhead | 2023 State MN is our second ranked class of 2023 uncommitted player. He had a really solid junior year with 39 goals and 30 assists for 69 total points. This is a big jump from his solid sophomore season where he had 24 points. Bentz is a certified goal scorer, while being a solid playmaker at the same time. He has a great chance at playing at the next level as well. I think he stays in highschool one more year and will be a Mr. Hockey contender. If we had to pick a college where Bentz will end up at.. it’s hard not to say North Dakota with it being so close to Moorhead. Great player that has a bright future ahead of him.

      Sam Ranallo Sam Ranallo 5'10" | Forward Rogers | 2023 State MN | 5’11 Forward | Rogers | #11 Overall 2023

Sam Ranallo Sam Ranallo 5'10" | Forward Rogers | 2023 State MN is a household name in MN HS hockey. He started off very hot in his first year as he notched 47 points in his sophomore season. He then had a very good junior year this past year with 28 goals and 34 assists for 62 total points. Ranallo we are almost certain will return to high school hockey for his senior year. He is one of the most electric players in the state, and college coaches will take notice eventually. Our college prediction is either Mankato State or St. Cloud state, as that is the type of player we think he is.

There is a really good chance all three of these players end up as D1 commits within the next year. Very solid players and help add to the strength of this class of 2023.
