We are back today for another conference preseason preview; where we highlight the top returning players at each position and also preview the best teams in the said conference. The conference this week will be one of the better conferences- the Metro West Conference. The Metro West contains Benilde St. Margaret’s, Bloomington Jefferson, Bloomington Kennedy, Chanhassen, Chaska, St. Louis Park, New Prague, Orono, Waconia. Today we are covering forwards that are worthy of recognition in this conference for their returns. This conference has a pretty solid mix of teams and a very good mix of players. Let’s take a look at these top 3 returning forwards-
- Adam Marshall Adam Marshall 5'10" | Forward Benilde- St. Margarets | 2022 State MN | 5’10 Forward | Benilde St. Margaret’s | Senior
Adam Marshall Adam Marshall 5'10" | Forward Benilde- St. Margarets | 2022 State MN is the sure-fire number one returning forward to this conference. Marshall is one of the best returning players in the whole state. Marshall currently leads the state in scoring in the HS elite league- this is a pretty big feat and will get him noticed by some scouts for sure. He has 33 points in the elite league, which puts him at 3rd on the list. Looks like Marshall has developed a better knack for scoring in the elite league- this is very promising. Marshall finished his junior season with 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 total points. Marshall is on track for a huge year this year; he is one of the best players that are still uncommitted.
2. Jack Seaverson Jack Seaverson 6'0" | Forward Chaska | 2022 State MN | 6’0 Forward | Chaska | Senior
Chaska always has some very solid players at the top of their conference. Jack Seaverson Jack Seaverson 6'0" | Forward Chaska | 2022 State MN is one of the more balanced scorers in the states- last season he had 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points. He is also currently in the HS elite league, which is known as the preseason league for the best high school upperclassmen. Seaverson’s best game last year was against Orono, where he had 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 goals. Jack Seaverson Jack Seaverson 6'0" | Forward Chaska | 2022 State MN has some pretty big expectations for this season, as he is on the brink of making the next step. He is a senior and he isn’t committed anywhere as of now, but this year is very important to his playing career after high school. If he has another year similar to last year, playing juniors after highschool looks possible for sure.
3. Joey Parker | 5’9 Forward | Chanhassen | Junior
Joey Parker is one of the most solid younger forwards in this conference. This past season, as a sophomore he had 5 goals and 13 assists. Very good playmaker for the Chanhassen Storm is one that is under the radar of most players in this conference going into the season. One interesting stat he had- is having 6 points on the power play last year. Should see an increased role this year and we will see if he can make the most out of it. One player to watch this season for sure.
